Common Ground NS (the "directory") is owned and operated by Nikita VanVessem, a sole proprietor based in Nova Scotia, Canada ("we", "our", "us"). By creating an account, subscribing to, or otherwise using the directory, you enter into an agreement with Nikita VanVessem and you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the directory.

Subscriptions, payment and taxes

Access to the directory requires a paid subscription: $9.99 CAD per month or $99.99 CAD per year, as shown on our pricing page. Prices exclude applicable sales tax, which is calculated and added at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Payment, billing, invoicing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms and our Refund Policy, which offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Intellectual property

The directory, including its software, compiled listings, design, and branding, remains the property of Nikita VanVessem. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the directory for your own professional or personal referral work for as long as your subscription is active. You may not resell, redistribute, reverse engineer, or circumvent technical limits of the service.

1. What the directory is

Common Ground NS is a searchable directory of community, health, housing, food, financial, legal, and outreach resources available in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is designed to help frontline workers and community members find and share up-to-date referral information.

2. Not a service provider

We do not operate, staff, fund, or endorse the organizations listed in the directory. Listings are provided for informational purposes only. Programs, hours, eligibility, and contact information can change without notice. Always confirm details directly with the organization before relying on them, especially in a crisis.

3. Not emergency, medical, or legal advice

Information in the directory is not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or emergency services. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. 4. Your account

• You must provide accurate information when you sign up.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for any activity on your account.
• One account per person. Do not share accounts.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the directory to harass, stalk, or harm any person or organization.
• Submit false, misleading, or malicious reports.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute the directory in bulk without written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data, administrator tools, or the underlying systems.
• Use the directory to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.

6. Reports and user submissions

When you submit a report (for example, "this phone number is out of date"), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use that information to update and maintain the directory. Do not include personally identifying information about third parties in reports.

7. Administrators

Administrators may edit or hide resource listings, review reports, and manage user roles to keep the directory accurate and safe. Administrators do not have access to your password.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the directory and cancel your subscription at any time.

9. No warranty

The directory is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nikita VanVessem is not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages (including lost profits, data or goodwill) arising from your use of the directory or from any action taken based on information in a listing, and total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where such exclusion is not permitted by law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the directory after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Nova Scotia.
